What Fox Valley SHRM means to me: An organization that is filled with HR practitioners that are passionate about their profession. The ability to keep informed on very important HR topics, laws and legislation. IFVSHRM is a forum for HR professionals to share ideas, situations and build relationships. Each meeting is an educational experience that adds a new piece of knowledge to the great mosaic called Human Resources.

A charter member of our chapter, I got involved because there were no professional HR organizations in the Fox Valley area. The group of individuals who chartered our chapter wanted to create a local chapter of the National SHRM to provide networking opportunities among local HR professionals. In addition, we wanted a forum that would provide educational programs as well as legislative updates to keep current with HR trends.
As a member of this chapter, I have developed many new relationships and contacts with opportunities to share information and benchmark best practices among our members.
