    October 18, 2018

    Attendees: Lisa Gruhlke, Sara Zorich, Sarah Sester, Pam Van Bogaert, Kristen May, Warren Krup, Carmen Lainez, Sue Oswalt, Beth Hovious and Paul LaLonde

    Absent – Judie Childress.

    Called to order at 1:14

    Old Business

    1. Excel Award 2018 – No discussion
    2. Excel Initiative Areas – Discussion held regarding initiative areas:
      1. Membership – November membership drive
      2. Diversity & Inclusion – Sarah Jayne
      3. Workforce readiness – U-46, career counseling and interview reediness; New grad mentorship
      4. Community Outreach – U-46, career counseling and interview reediness; New grad mentorship
      5. Foundation Liaison – Basket for State
      6. SHRM Foundation Promotion – Carmen spoke to certification class
    3. Michelle Yanahan’s Workshop – Discussion held and not moving forward at this time

    New Business

    1. Strategic Planning meeting is being held on 11/27 at 7:00 am at the Colonial Café
    2. By-Laws Review – discussion held
    3. Job Description Review – discussion held and board members will review job descriptions from website
    4. Budget for 2019 – Discussion held and Sarah will circulate for 2019.

    4. Crystal Gonzalez’s Board resignation submission – The Board thanks Crystal for her time, effort and years of service spent on the Board.  Pam made a motion to accept Crystal’s resignation from the Board which was 2nd by Judie, vote held and motion carried.

    1. 2018 Budget – Discussion held; Judie made a motion to approve the budget, Sara Z. 2nd and all approved.
    2. Review Director Positions and Terms – Discussion held.

    New Business

    1. Excel Award Submission for 2017 due March 15th – Discussion held
    2. Excel Award for 2018 – Discussion held
    3. Excel Initiative Areas – Discussion held (i.e. workforce ready, membership initiative, DOL initiative, Member benefits)
    4. Recruitment of new Board Members – Discussion held
    5. Follow up survey – why no rejoined – Discussion held
    6. ½ Day HR meeting – Discussion held

    Sara made a motion to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Judie and all approve.  Meeting adjourned at 1:54 pm.
