Network Like An Introvert: Valuable Tips For All Personality Styles
Erich Kurschat of Harmony Insights presented at the FVSHRM meeting on 10/30/19 at the Elgin Country Club and gave us so many great tips and ideas that turned our networking theories upside down. Here are some of the takeaways:
- Look at a networking event to make a friend.
- Shine the spotlight on someone else. This takes it off you, and gives that other person a time to glow.
- Connect the way you want to connect, not how you think you should connect, or how someone else does it.
- Ask follow up questions to truly be engaged.
- Treat others like they have a sign over there head that says “make me feel special”.
We learned so many powerful ways to help us build lifelong connections. Erich also shared some other tips, books, podcasts and Ted Talk that he recommends, these are listed at the bottom of this note.
