Employers faced with misconduct need to have a consistent process to find out the facts and take appropriate action in a timely manner. Workplace investigations come with a number of pitfalls such as failure to act, not acting quickly enough, not being consistent, not being thorough, not keeping confidence and not being fair, to name a few. HR needs to provide strong guidance to management to ensure that an investigation not only meets its objectives, but  also that it does not create a actionable event in itself. 

Many organizations have strong diversity and inclusion initiatives as their commitment to a more open and accepting environment.  Now it is time to take a deeper look at the issues and explore how implicit bias works, how it can create inequitable structures and what actions organizations can take to eliminate it.

In this interactive session we hope to accomplish the follow objectives:

With the advent of the pandemic many, organizations are moving towards remote work either temporarily or permanently. While there are many advantages to virtual teaming, managing the remote workforce presents new challenges for HR practitioners.

John Newton, a well-known HR expert, will lead this interactive workshop to explore the HR implications such as policies, employee engagement, communication, employee relations, productivity, performance, technology and safety/security.

People who work in Human Resources have multiple demands placed on their time and energy by their roles as supportive professionals. This crisis has added another layer of stress given the prospect of keeping the organization viable and the employees healthy (and in some cases alive).

In this session Jorie Cummins (NSN Employer Services, Inc.) will review the Unemployment System and discuss the life cycle of a claim along with separation reasons and benefit charges and tax rates.
